    What to Expect

The Saida Towers condo resort complex is located on the coveted south beach location of South Padre Island, nearly straight away beachfront as you drive across the Queen Isabella Causeway bridge from the mainland to the Island.

One of the reasons the south beach end of the Island is so coveted would be the walkability score to so many businesses like restaurants, shopping, and bars. Once you are checked into your condo, you can walk to nearly everything you want while on vacation.

Saida is generally considered the most resort like condo complex on South Padre Island as it features multiple heated pools and outdoor jacuzzis, tennis courts, and a tiki bar/grill pool side. As the complex is so vast with 4 towers at Saida, plus the tower of Royale Beach & Tennis Club (largely a timeshare), there the property is especially well suited for families as children can be expected at Saida year round to meet and play.

Saida itself is protected by an 8 foot handsome fence around the perimeter, including a guard shack that is staffed 24 hours a day by security at its main entrance. This provides an unprecedented level of privacy and security on South Padre Island you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

Parking is behind the fence and gates and private. You will be issued permits at check in. The facility itself assists with unloading of groceries, bags and beach gear by property provided luggage carts near the elevators. Make sure at check in you get a map of Saida Towers as the property is so large as to what tower your condo is in, as well as what floor and unit number. Make sure you do have the beach access code to use the private Saida beach access to the beach & ocean.

Once inside, lower your AC if it is not suitable. Remember, leaving the AC on low with the patio doors can cause the AC unit to “freeze over” – a costly expense to you as a guest. Therefore make sure you keep patio doors closed if you do have the AC low.

Should you arrive to South Padre Island without groceries or need supplies, on the Island there is the Blue Marlin super market (IGA chain) with beer, wine, and groceries. For more robust needs, across the causeway bridge is the HEB supermarket and Super Wal Mart. The island itself has 4 liquor stores, including Ben’s Liquor Warehouse and Feldmanns. Remember, Texas State Law stipulates no liquor sales in Texas on Sunday though beer and wine is still sold at area Stripes convenience stores.

It is important to note that Saida has 2 heated pools located directly beachfront, with a non heated pool as well for a total of 3 pools. The property has 3 outdoor heated Jacuzzis as well as tennis courts previously mentioned. Bring your own rackets and tennis balls. The complex does have coin operated laundry as units lack in room facilities to do laundry. Please note, there is not poolside towel service so be sure to bring your own beach towels and gear.

Saida does NOT allow outdoor BBQ s anywhere on property nor on your patio. Remember when buying your beverages, glass is prohibited pool side as well as on the beach for safety reasons. Open containers on South Padre are legal on the beach, as well as anywhere on Saida grounds but NOT on the streets. Saida also prohibits BYOB adult beverage service by the non heated pool as the tiki bar/grill has a liquor license. Remember, smoking inside all of our Saida units is prohibited – use the private beach patios. Please use caution with cigg butts and do not pitch off the balconies.

The condos of Saida do not have daily maid service, though it can be added to your bill via order at check in or later during your stay. Towel and linen exchange is available in our office if you so desire. The condos come equipped with all utensils in the kitchen as well as a full sized refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Most units do have a blender for frozen drinks or smoothies. The units will have one extra trash bag as well as a starter amount for the dishwasher. Remembering to bring a couple extras from home will save time and money. Saida has trash chutes on every floor making clean up fairly easy.

Towels and linens are provided in the unit. We always recommend to our guests a simple reminder to bring their own personal pillow from home for the most sleep comfort. An additional quick tip is buy bottled water, and plenty of it. The City provided water, while potable, is nearly undrinkable and we do not recommend consuming it directly from the taps. While the grounds of Saida do offer FREE WiFi, remember, this service is neither fast nor particularly reliable. The best service carriers on South Padre Island are Verizon, followed by T-Mobile.

Should the weather prove less than perfect, South Padre has a few “bad weather” things to do. For one, the CVS pharmacy on the Island has a Red Box to rent movies, as does Wal Mart AND HEB in Port Isabel. Additionally, the Island Cinema offers full new release movie house experience. Other bad weather things to do include shopping the Island, visiting Sea Turtle Inc (sea turtle rescue facility open to the public across from the Holiday Inn Express hotel) or the South Padre Birding Center.

While our guests are not expected to clean their units of course prior to departure, to avoid any excessive cleaning charges put all dirty dishes in the dishwasher, bag all trash, and put all linens and towels in the tub or shower. Check in time is 3 pm for all condos, and check out time is 11 am. If you desire an early check in or late check out, inquire. For a small fee, we generally can accommodate depending on rentals incoming and outgoing.

As the bedding situation in each condo at Saida differs as all condos are individually owned, be sure if you have concerns your bring a blow up air bed and extra bedding for kiddos as they love to have a living room slumber party of course and this frees up adult bedding.

Remember, lower floor units are GREAT for those wanting to save time on the elevators, while higher units offer arguably better views. The best prices we offer on condos are always on rentals Sunday thru Thursday, where you allow us to pick your exact unit as long as it has the size you ordered (1, 2 or 3 bedrooms).
